STUDENT ATHLETE TRAINING
CHANGING THE GAME!
At AASS, we understand the type of effort and resilience it takes to become a “premier” athlete. We approach each session with a “bend but don’t break” attitude. Athletes will progress through form drills, to competitive drills, and eventually, adversity styled drills. With Athlete’s Addiction Strength & Speed, your kids will develop the mental toughness of a champion along with an athletic transformation you didn’t realize was possible. To be the best, you must train like the best…and what better way to do it than to TRAIN WITH THE BEST!
ATHLETE’S ADDICTION STRENGTH AND SPEED OFFERS PROGRAMS THAT FIT THEIR SCHEDULE AND YOUR BUDGET!
Your athlete’s training program is customized specifically for them. Prior to beginning training, we perform a thorough assessment to include:
The Functional Movement Screen allows us to identify dysfunctional movement patterns and then create a plan to restore proper movement patterns. Ensuring that our athletes can move through basic functional patterns will help to reduce their chance of injury.
Health and Skill Related Components
This series of assessments are designed to give us a snapshot of their current performance level. Together, these assessments provide the cornerstone for our training programs. Athletes will continue to be monitored throughout their training sessions for evidence of progress.
Using the Long Term Athletic Development Model, we have defined our Age-Appropriate Training Strategies.
ABC’s of Fun
Here, we focus on the ABC’s (Agility, Balance and Coordination) of fundamental fitness.
Have you ever tried to “unlearn” a bad habit? Start your child on the right foot by learning proper techniques for the foundational movements of athletics. Whichever sport they decide to pursue, they will have a strong foundation from which to build.
Train to Train
During this rapid stage of growth, sound technique development is the absolute most important objective. Here the athlete will not only get stronger but also smarter. Neurological pathways will be carved, and repetition will be key. Don’t let your athlete get behind! Give them a head start on traditional and non- traditional approaches to strength and conditioning.
Train to Compete
The strong foundation built in the early years sets the stage for progress during this period of development. Increases in strength and power, shoulder stabilization, and core strength will be achieved. Training progresses on an individualized basis, only gaining in complexity as the athlete’s mastery level increases.
Train to Perform
For College Athletes it’s all about fine tuning their performance. We will be working on all aspects of human performance to maximize their on-field performance and recovery, while reducing their chance for injuries.

Thanks to our expansion, athletes involved in these classes will have dedicated training space, outfitted with all of the training tools required to establish functional fitness and improve athletic performance.
ATHLETE PERFORMANCE 1: For Elementary School Age Children Ages 7-11
Conservatice approach. Technique Driven. Establishes Neuromuscular Patterns.
AP1 classes focus on teaching kids how to use their own body weight, TRX suspension straps, medicine balls, bands, and very light weight to help them develop a good foundation. Athletes will learn how to do a body weight squat properly, learn how to properly perform a variety of foundational exercises, and learn basic core movements. AP1 athletes will also have access to our Speed, Agility, Quickness and Power sessions each week that focus on footwork patterns, mechanics, quickness, and explosive movements.
Athletes are assessed every 12 weeks.
ATHLETE PERFORMANCE 2: For Middle School Age Children Ages 11-13
Form is Paramount. Introduction to Advanced Movement Patterns. Light Weights Appropriate for Development.
AP2 classes are for athletes who are a bit more developed and advanced. These athletes are learning to squat while holding a weight. They are learning how to do a hip hinge pattern (deadlift) using a kettlebell. We will introduce weights to them IF they are developmentally ready for them. AP2 athletes will also have access to our Speed, Agility, Quickness and Power sessions each week that focus on footwork patterns, mechanics, quickness and explosive movements. AP2 athletes also get a chance to attend Active Recovery sessions each week where we focus on corrective movements to improve the mobility and stability of movement patterns.
ATHLETE PERFORMANCE 3: For athletes ages 13+. Advanced 13 year olds may qualify. This class requires a Master Screen prior to admission.
Excellent Form Required. Introduction to the Weight Room. Conservative Approach to Load Progression.
AP3 is for athletes who we feel are ready to step into the weight room and follow a weight lifting program. They have a solid foudnation, they know how to do a proper squat, and they are too advanced for AP2. AP3 athletes will also have access to our Speed, Agility, Quickness, and Power sessions each week that focuses on footwork patterns, mechanics, quickness and explosive movements. AP3 athletes also get a chance to attend Active Recovery sessions each week where we focus on corrective movements to improve the mobility and stability of movement patterns.
