Athletes will progress through form drills, to competitive drills, and eventually, adversity styled drills. With Athlete’s Addiction Strength & Speed, your kids will develop the mental toughness of a champion along with an athletic transformation you didn’t realize was possible. Your athlete’s training program is customized specifically for them. Prior to beginning training, we perform a thorough assessment to include: FMS The Functional Movement Screen allows us to identify dysfunctional movement patterns and then create a plan to restore proper movement patterns. Ensuring that our athletes can move through basic functional patterns will help to reduce their chance of injury. Health and Skill Related Components This series of assessments are designed to give us a snapshot of their current performance level. Together, these assessments provide the cornerstone for our training programs. Athletes will continue to be monitored throughout their training sessions for evidence of progress.
Using the Long Term Athletic Development Model, we have defined our Age-Appropriate Training Strategies.
ABC’s of Fun
Here, we focus on the ABC’s (Agility, Balance and Coordination) of fundamental fitness. Have you ever tried to “unlearn” a bad habit? Start your child on the right foot by learning proper techniques for the foundational movements of athletics. Whichever sport they decide to pursue, they will have a strong foundation from which to build.
Train to Train
During this rapid stage of growth, sound technique development is the absolute most important objective. Here the athlete will not only get stronger but also smarter. Neurological pathways will be carved, and repetition will be key. Don’t let your athlete get behind! Give them a head start on traditional and non- traditional approaches to strength and conditioning.
Train to Compete
The strong foundation built in the early years sets the stage for progress during this period of development. Increases in strength and power, shoulder stabilization, and core strength will be achieved. Training progresses on an individualized basis, only gaining in complexity as the athlete’s mastery level increases.
Train to Perform
For College Athletes it’s all about fine tuning their performance. We will be working on all aspects of human performance to maximize their on-field performance and recovery, while reducing their chance for injuries.
Private 1-on-1 Training for Student Athletes of All Ages
Clients who choose this option are looking to maximize their training time to focus on personal details that only a one-on-one setting can provide. Based on their assessments, an individualized training plan will be developed to improve performance. Our Better Athlete classes target all of the essential components for functional fitness and improved athletic performance. Targeted Training for: Speed, Agility, Quickness, Explosiveness, Strength, Mobility and Coordination Better Athlete 1- ages 7-12 Better Athlete 2 – ages 11-14
Intermediate and Advanced Speed classes will expand on the fundamental aspects of speed and agility through the use of advanced acceleration, deceleration, change of direction, and footwork techniques.
